I'm scared that I just won't be ABLE to push when the time comes! What if I wuss out?! I don't want a c-sectio

Will I be able?? I'm not too weak, not too tough..

Why do I always hear of women having c-sections (like Angelina Jolie, and we all thought she had a pretty high tolerance for pain!), when the baby was in position and everything?! They just couldn't do it or what?? Help me please!

Don't worry when the time comes you will have to do what your body tells you to do. You will want to push and will be looking forward to seeing your new baby.

Some women book in to have C-sections because they are too prim to push or they want their baby on a certain date for reasons such as work committments, family, holidays or their doctor is going out of town. With all the pain relief available these days you should be right if you need it. Best of Luck!
Reply:girl i was so scared when i was in the delivery room because i just knew it was going to hurt that's wut everybody kept tellin me, but all you gotta do is just act like you poopin n just push real hard hopefully you'll have family there to support you as far as pushin but it's not that hard, oh n angelina jolie could have wanted a c-section if the baby is in the right position then i don't see y not as far as having it through the vagina but hey i'm not a doctor anyway good luck!!
Reply:LOL! You will not be able to help your self - your body will be screaming at you to push when the time comes.

When people talk about women who 'just couldn't do it', it's not that they are saying that the women couldn't physically push - but rather that their pushing was unproductive. Totally different thing.

I pushed for 2 1/2 hours with my first - and she just wouldn't come out. She was big, my hips were narrow and it probably was best for all concerned when I called it quits and agreed with my doctor's suggestion that I have a c-section - but even after I had made that decision, I still had a tremendous urge to push with every contraction until the meds for the spinal block were flowing.

Relax. Take a prenatal class (Lamaze, Bradley - whatever is to offer in your area/hospital) so you will know what to expect in the different stages of labor. You may surprise yourself when the time comes.
Reply:Believe me, you will feel the EXTREME urge to push and you will definitely push. It may seem crazy now, but when that urge to push comes, that's all you want to do! You will be fine!
Reply:Trust me, your body tells you when to push and you can't ignore it. I had to have an emergency c-section because of birth complications and it was the hardest thing I ever did not to push. When the doctor told me not to push I literally looked at him and said, "are you nuts?" I am a rather thin and kind of delicate weakling too, but let me tell you, the strength is in you.

My mom pushed an 11 lbs baby with no drugs whatsoever, even when they told her she wouldn't be able to.
Reply:my sister had her first baby at 12 and she was able to deliver vaginally so just relax. u can do it!
Reply:when the need to push comes you won't be able to resist i promise!
Reply:you will be able to, especially when you hear everybody yelling that the baby is crowning. not going to lie...it was the toughest thing i've ever had to do in my life and after several hours of pushing, i said "i can't do it anymore." make sure you have a good support unit with you in the delivery, i.e. your husband and believe me, when you're up on your feet, caring for your baby within a day, you'll be happy you never had a c-section.
Reply:You will be fine. I am scared too. I am 11 weeks with my first child and although I am 6 months away I still get freaked out when I hear people talking. My mother told this: Women have been having babies for centuries and most of them without the drugs we have today and they all did perfectly fine. My grandma gave birth to 11 kids in her home with a midwife, no drugs and all her kids was 10 pounds or betta. That's what I keep telling myself...this is what our bodies are meant to do. And if worst comes to worst you can always get the drugs. Good Luck!
Reply:My mom and I was talking about this the other day," I said when I get pregnant and I am about to have the baby what if I can't push?" She said " Honey when the baby is coming, all your going to want to do is get that thing out, trust me you are going to push!"

I hope I helped!
