My computer freezes up all the time? It mentions that the problem is in my C drive. Any suggestions?
I will be on the computer going to a website and the computer just freezes. It says Microsoft Explorer is not responding and when it asks if you want to send an error report, there are two items in the C drive mentioned. I have tried to look for them, but they I can't find them. Does anyone have any suggestions about this because the problem is really annoying!

I have a Dell computer, about 8 months old,512 RAM-100gigs hard drive, and it has been doing stuff like that from day one. Just spent $200 on a new hard drive, and it helped a lot, but it still does it {freezes up} from time to time. Guess Dell computers are just cheap pieces of sh*t. Hope yours isn't a Dell.
De-fragmenting and disc cleaning helps, but isn't always the answer to the problem. Be sure to check for spyware. Spybot is a good spyware remover.
Reply:You also might want to try defraging your drive. If I do a lot of web surfing my primary drive gets really fragmented and the windows start opening up with only partial or scramble graphics and the number of working windows gets fewer and fewer until I defrag.
You didn't specify which two items are causing the problem. They could be damaged .dll or .tmp files that Windows Explorer utilizes. You might have to backup you files and then reinstall Windows (along with your other applications) to correct the problem.
Reply:Probably not enough memory or gigabites. If not one of those your computer is jsut messed up and old and theres nothing you can do... hope its the first one!
Reply:Too bad you did not mention the 'items of interest'.
Who is your browser? Yahoo has a 'pretty good' security suite.
Before you go to your web connection, try-- start-control panel- select performance and maint.- select pick a task, select one of the 5 options for computer maint. try them all. Then, if no go, select 'system', in dialog box select 'system restore' and go back to a 'happier time' when you did not have this problem.
Stay off chat sites, infested- --myspace is famous for this-- go to www.ccleaner.com , and download 'ccleaner', to keep your comp. more germ free. use it every time you log off.
Good luck

Reply:Well,go to Programs on start menu, then accesories, then system tools then press disk cleanup and cleanup the c drive.it should work then.

When is the last time Leeds United F.C. won something?
I am not trying to wind Leeds fans up. This is a genuine question.
I don't know much about footie. I am leaving my office and bought a colleague a gift - its a mug with a picture of Leeds winning the 1972 FA cup. Is that the last time they won something?
When is the last time Leeds United F.C. won something?
Won the very last football league first division in season 1991-92 before it became the premier league. Also won the charity shield in August 1992, beating Liverpool. They also won the FA Youth Cup in 1993 and 1997, but they don't really count. I'd take that mug back to the shop

How do I stop my Cavalier K C Spaniels for running off after birds every time I let them off the lead?
they are 18 month old brothers I took them to puppy classes and they used to come back when called we did a lot of work on it then last spring when all the bird came out ( Pheasants mainly ) they started to just put down their noses and go its got gradually worse until now I dont let them off at all because I'm afraid that as there are a lot of sheep around here if they disappear 3 fields away I have no idea what they are doing is it because they have each other I have tried taking them out on there own and its a bit better but v time consuming Help!!
How do I stop my Cavalier K C Spaniels for running off after birds every time I let them off the lead?
Put them on a 30 foot lead then use it to enforce the come command
Reply:maybe a refreser corse would help if you had time. have u watched dog borstal? they use an old bottle with stones or something in it and shook it everytime they need to say no to the dog! maybe this will help...everytime they go to run relate this noise with a stern no.....try it whats to loose??? xx vikki
Reply:It's instinct for them to track the birds. Don't let them off lead when there are distractions or keep them in a fenced area.
Reply:You need to go back to classes for a refresher course.
Reply:Don't let them off the lead and go back to the training club and when you take the dogs out its not the same conditions as training at the dog club or at home you should take them to different places and practise. (the local park)
Reply:our 1 year old ckcs is the same fortunately its just crows our lucy chases but she has very good recall and comes back when called!
have you tried extendable leads? if not try those and every time they go for the bird just lock the lead at certain length so they cant get to bird, and call them back if they come tell them `good boys` and lots of praise!
hope you work something out
Reply:Don't let them off lead where there are birds and you can't control them.
Go back to remedial training, but they're spaniels, meant to hunt birds. No amount of training will make them 100% reliable under these conditions.
My bassets are very well trained, have won awards at obedience competitions, but I sure wouldn't trust them off-leash if there were bunnies around.
BTW, if the farmer catches your dogs around his sheep, he has the legal right to shoot them. Dogs can upset pregnant and lambing ewes just by their presence and cause miscarriages and injuries to the lambs and ewes.
Reply:Buy some extendable leads so you don't have to let them run free.

Can anyone tell me the start of time...... meaning before A.D. and after B.C.?
And also the meaning of A.D. and B.C.?
No this is not a homework assigment. Happy Halloween!!!!
Can anyone tell me the start of time...... meaning before A.D. and after B.C.?
B.C. and A.D. are religious abbreviations we still use today coming from "Before Christ" and "Anno Domini-(in the year of our lord)" Most people Use C.E. and BCE (common era, and before common era). The beginning of time, scientifically? BYA, Billions of years Ago. WHo knows?
Reply:A.D. = Anno Domini = the year of the lord.
basically after Christ's birth. NOT after death, as is commonly believed, b/c then there would have been a thirty three year gap where the years weren't numbered!
B.C. = before Christ
pretty straightforward.
just fyi, they got it wrong! Jesus was actually born around 4 BC!
Reply:A.D. = Anno Domini = Year of the Lord
B.C. = Before Christ
A.D. was suppsed to begin with the birth of Christ (although actually, it would have to have been a few years earlier).
The new terms, BCE (before common era) and CE (common era) are used to avoid the religious implications.
Reply:A.D. stands for the Latin Anno Domini, or Year of the Lord.
B.C. is short for Before Christ.
A.D. begins with the date January 1, 1 A.D. B.C. ends with December 31, 1 B.C. There is no year zero in either system and yes, I do realize these were not the days of the year at that time, but this is projecting our calendar back to then.
Reply:anno domini (year of the Lord) referring to Jesus. he was born in year one by this reckoning. AD
BC: before Christ. Goes backwards. 1000 years BC is nearer to the present than 1000000 BC. Dinosaurs were wiped out about 64 million years BC. These days because of antireligious feeling BC is called Before Current Era and is also writen BCE
The earth is about 5 billion years old. The universe: wel who knows; maybe 20 billion, ive no idea. We think time began at the Big Bang, which may have been a collosal explosion of the last massive black hole which had swalloed the previous universe. but what is time anyway?
Reply:Originaly it meant Before Christ, and AD was supposed to mean the years after.

If you have had 2 or more c-sections, what was it like the second time in comparison to the first?
Was it more/less painful? How was the recovery? Were you more/less nervous? Did anything go wrong? Please add any other info you think would help the second time around :)
If you have had 2 or more c-sections, what was it like the second time in comparison to the first?
My second c section was less painful and I had an easier recovery. I wasn't as nervous with it..I guess because I knew what to expect afterwards. With my first one, I took me a while to recover from it. But with my second one, I was back at work when my baby was just 3 weeks old. (I still had to take it easy of course, and it was against my doctor's advice) but I did it. Where as, with my first one, there was no way I would have been able to go back to work when he was 3 weeks old. But, try not to worry, because yes, the second time around is a whole lot easier and less painful then the first time around. Good luck
Reply:My 2nd was better than my first and the 3rd was better than my 2nd. I think the thing that helped me out the most was being able to ask questions about what I was feeling while I was feeling it. It can be pretty overwhelming.
I wouldn't say that it was less painful, but I was more aware of what to expect so it wasn't as scary. The recovery wasn't so bad either because I knew what I had to do already.
The best thing that I can recommend is asking questions while they are doing the procedure. I had no idea what they were doing or why I was feeling the way I was feeling and I panicked (sp?). My next c-section the anesthesiologist (sp?) was very helpful in answering all my questions and explaining that what I was feeling was normal and why I was feeling it. So ask questions if you start to get scared!! It is so reassuring!!
Reply:I had two emergency c-sections. The second time I was in labour and found recovery a little more difficult...of course, I was chasing a two-year-old the second time and the first time I spent two weeks in the hospital...baby was premature. I was less nervous the second time, and was actually happier the second time, as I was awake through the procedure. The only thing that went wrong was that I had a minor allergic reaction to the anasthetic...but nothing that Benedryl can't handle! It was no more painful, but abdominal surgery is never a good time. I had a marvelous OB..in fact, I have an altar to him in my home. Just kidding...but he's such a good doc!
First, be patient with yourself. You are going to take a little longer to heal because now you are chasing two (it is only two, right?). If you can get someone to help you out by taking the first one for a couple of days, through the day while you adjust to life with #2, it's a good idea. My mother-in-law did that for me for the first week my daughter was home...it was her idea too! But it helped me so much.
Second...stay on top of any pain. Take your pain meds a little before you think you're going to need them. Your body heals better if it's not in pain.
Third...communicate your fears/misgivings/concerns to your OB. He/she is there for you and (usually) is interested in putting you at ease.
Fourth...relax. Set your mind at ease. Laugh as much as you can. Do things which are happy and full of life, and fun and promise, leading up to your cesarian. Push worry as far from you as possible. Where the mind goes, the body follows.
Reply:My second time i recovered alot faster and it wasnt painful at all. I was up and walking around 12 hours after my c-section.
Reply:Im scared of my second ceserean too, I enjoyed my first ceserean, very positive experience I feel like that recovery will be longer and more painful because the incision will be made along the scar tissue of the previous C. From what I have gathered, the second time around is easier, so here is hoping for the both of us!
Reply:I was more nervous for my 2nd c-section, mainly because I knew it was going to happen. My 1st one was emergency after 21 hours of labor, and my 2nd was planned. It was very easy. I just went into the hospital, and 2 hours later, I had my daughter. The recovery was basically the same. I was glad that I had decided to do it.
Reply:My second cesarean was a lot easier than my first, because it was planned, and I already knew what to expect. The pain meds I was given didn't hurt, either!
