Am scheduled for c-section in 10 days. Am very nervous. What should i expect and how many hours before the surgery must i be there?
Thanks
At what time must i be at the hospital before my c-section?
The hospital will tell you what time to be there when you have your pre admittance meeting - if you haven't already. You may have to call the night before to find out. This is how it was for me: My C section was scheduled for 8 am and I had to be there at 6 am. They get you set up in a bed and hook up the monitor, draw blood, take a medical history - I don't know why they do it yet AGAIN when you've already given the info a million times...Then the anesthisiologists comes in and talks to you - explains his part in the birth of your baby etc. He sets up the epidural or spinal and then you're ready to go into the OR if they haven't already taken you in. It is nervewracking for sure but it's also very exciting. Best of luck to you.
Reply:c sections are a piece of cake compared to delivering the natural way. You do have pain for about a week after but it gets better. You should probably be there early in the morning of the operation.
Reply:Your ob/gyn or the nurses working in his/her office will prepare you for that day. You can ask them any questions you have about it. Call them if you are not due to go in for a doctor's visit before the ten days is up. They will tell you everything. Good luck!
