After 3 years of time-off, he should be back to police academy.

I think alot of cops in DC don't work for 3 years.... depends if you want to make a career or have a cushy job.... Donuts and bagels! mmmmmmmm

Reply:There are variables there. First check your rules and regs, then your contract. It would really depend on why. If for example your unit was called up and deployed, no you get your job back when you return or the dept. is in violation of Federal law.





For anything else I think that 3yrs is a long time most medical leaves and such are 6 months tops. Unless you went out on a medical and then recovered. Then I believe it is 5 years.
