Is there a method to increase C drive at the same time reduce D drive without reformating PC? Thanks?

my c drive left little space but my D drive has too much space. I tried to reduce the volume from D drive, but resulted a new untitle empty drive(F). D drive volume is reduced, and C drive was not increase. How to increase C drive without reformating my whole PC. Thanks

Partition Magic. It the best - and will do it all.
Reply:i assume you only have one physical drive. use partition magic software.

thanks.
Reply:Yes, that can be done. I can even recommend a free program, GParted:

http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
Reply:BIG says move your paging. This is only good advice if you have two hard drives (NOT partitions).
Reply:You'll need to back up and deallocate the drive D: partition so you have empty space to enlarge drive C: into. If there's no room on C: then you'll need an external drive or a bunch of blank CDs to save your drive D: data with.
Reply:Yes, although i haven't found one that is free yet.

I used Norton PartitionMagic in the past, it's very easy to use.
Reply:resizing that can be dangerous but I use to use Partition Magic also. It's a simple program. But instead of doing that, you could always move your Page File to your D drive. You could also Compress your C drive. And you could remove some programs and then reinstall them to your D Drive. That's what I would do because resizing your C drive could destroy the data on your entire hard drive if there's one simple mistake. If you need any more help, email me.
