TERRIBLE BIRTH can I opt for c-section next time?

To cut a long story short I was 9days late and had to be enduced because my cervix wasn't ripening. It was a forceps delivery and I had an episiotomy plus I tore. I had seveire internal and external stitching and burst open from the very front to the very back, I couldnt sit for 10days! Plus some of the stitches burst leaving weird scarring.

My daughter will be one year old next week and the nurse says the skin still looks thin and red and it's still quite painful to have sex.

I'd love to try for another baby after the new year but I'm terrified of the damage that might be done giving birth again.

Do you think a C.section might be recomemded, or will I just have to get on with it and hope for the best?

First I would find a different Doctor. 9 days late is nothing- your dates could have been off (dates can be off 2 weeks +/- depending on your cycle %26amp; ultra sounds aren't always accurate either.) If you cervix wasn't ripe then your body was not ready to have that baby! (2 of my babies were 2 weeks late.) I guessing they didn't try to ripen your cervix before they started the induction, which would make labor even more difficult.

You may look into a midwife or a doctor who is more open to a natural childbirth or a birthing center. That doesn't mean you can't get med's (or give birth at a hospital) if you need them, just these caregivers usually don't see childbirth as a medical condition. They see birth as a natural part of the life cycle %26amp; births with them are generally more pleasant.

Induction can cause allot of problems including forceps %26amp; c-section, along with possilble problems with future pregnancies- depending on how they did the induction. I wouldn't agree to induction unless there is a true medical reason for one.

I would never opt for a c-section unless there were a life/death situation, it is a major surgery. As a major surgery it has potential for major complications.

Babies are %26amp; should be born when they are ready not when it is most convenient for the doctor.

The final consideration is how comfortable were you with your doctor. If you are not comfortable with your care provider you will not have a good birth experience.

In the end it is your decision, based on you needs/ wants. Check out some other care providers %26amp; talk to them about your experience %26amp; get their opinions.
Reply:Depends on the Dr.

I feel sorry for you that sounds awful
Reply:Depends on what your doctor says. Some doctors will go a head and schedule a C-section if that is what you choose to do. But you'd really need his medical advice before you make any decision like that.
Reply:depends on the doctor u are seeing
Reply:You might want to consult with an OB on that one. It sounds like you may have some infection or other problems that may preclude you from having a vaginal delivery.

But be warned... c-sections are not a walk in the park either. This is abdominal surgery, and can take months to fully recover from.
