dosent b.c. mean before christ and a.d. mean after death. so how is it that many people dont believe that jesus christ existed.
What does B.C. and A.D. stand for in this worlds time line?
You are exactly right about B.C. standing for Before Christ.
A.D. = anno domani (the year of our Lord) which was when Christ had his bar mitzva (He was a Jew, that's what they were doing at the temple when he began teaching the priests.) There are approximately 12 years of history between Christ's birth and his Bar Mitzva that are NOT accounted for.
Reply:Before Christ / Anno Domini
Ad has been changed to the more "politically correct" C.E. common era
Reply:B.C. means before Christ
A.D. stands for anno Domini: a Latin phrase meaning the year of our Lord. A.D. starts at Christ's birth
Reply:actually a.d. means anno domani "the year of our lord".
I have never heard anyone say they don't believe Jesus existed. But even if he didn't, that wouldn't stop people from measuring time based on when they believe he existed.
If Scientologists had Zenu's birthday made a national holiday, would that prove he existed?
Reply:THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT.
Reply:BC = before the common era or Before Christ, British, an American newspaper comic strip written and drawn by Johnny Hart., Columbia and Breast Cancer
AD= Anno Domini (Latin: In the Year of Our Lord; referring to the Gregorian calendar system) and Alzheimer's Disease
Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it.
Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held.
Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books.
Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin.
Believe nothing just because someone else believes it.
Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Xemu
Happy Birthday to you!
Reply:actually, BC is now BCE, before common era.
AD means after dinosaurs to most people, though the person up there is right too. Which is why AD is now CE, common era.
Reply:B.C. does mean "Before Christ," but A.D. meaning "After Death" is a common misconception. It really means "Anno Domini," which is Latin for "In the Year of Our Lord." Yes, it is historically proved that Jesus Christ lived on this earth, and although there may not be scientific evidence that He rose again, we as Christians know that Jesus Christ is risen, and He is heaven right now acting as our mediator. Praise God!
Reply:yea. the whole world acknowledges Jesus Christ.
