After having 2 c-sections, would I be able to have a natural birth the third time??

The first c-section was "necessary" because the doctor said my placenta was not nourshing my baby, which I think is a load of crap and when they induced labor, I did not dialate. My second c-section was done because I had a new doctor and she did not have any records of my previous section so she recommended another c-section, I couldnt get the records from my previous doctor because the hospital was in New Orleans and it is not there anymore. I think I have pretty tough and good healing skin, would I be able to have natural birth? I really want the experience!!

After having 2 c-sections, would I be able to have a natural birth the third time??
I am in the same situation, I have had two c-sections and would rather a natural birth for the third (not sure when the third will be yet though) I have heard that a vbac (vaginal birth after cesearian) is only possible for the second but if you have had two c-sections it will always be a c-section. Although I have since read on the internet (although can't seem to find the site again) that it is possible to have a natural birth after two c-sections, and that is poses no more risk than a natural birth after only one c-section. It was said that the biggest factor is trying to find a doctor who would be willing to give you a trial of labour. I am still trying to find more information on this though, so I will be interested to read other ppls answers too. Good luck.
Reply:I think usually after one c section they will make you have a c section for every birth after that
Reply:Most doctors will not do a VBAC. You could talk to your doctor, but it's more likely they will suggest another c-section. Trust me, I tried.
Reply:It really depends on the dr. and how long it has been since your last section. My first 2 sections were only 15 months apart and my docs didn't even entertain the idea of a VBAC. My 2nd and 3rd are going to be 22 months apart and I know they aren't going to allow it again. I'm thinking if it's been like 3 or 4 years that they would be more likely to consider it. Just talk to your doc and see what they say. I would love to have a VBAC, but I completely understand why I can't. I would hate to labor for hours only to realize that I was in trouble and going to have to have another section anyways. I truly understand what you are going through. Good luck no matter what decision is made.
Reply:I think once you have to they give a c section everytime after that due to the uterus being weakened from the previous c sections.
Reply:Technically, it is possible to have a vaginal delivery after 2 c-sections, BUT, good luck finding a doctor or midwife who will agree to the trial! If your second doctor documented the scar tissue from the first c-section, you would have a little better chance, but if the original c-section incision is unknown, there is probably no chance anyone will take the risk. The problem does not lie in how "tough" your skin is, the concern is uterine rupture, and every time an incision is made in the uterus, the walls are weakened. My first baby was emergency c-section, second was VBAC and third was a scheduled c-section due to complications with the baby. When I went to the doctor this time, I did a lot of research, and was determined to go VBA2C, the first doc I saw in the group said that he would not allow me to go vaginal, but I was welcome to talk to the other doctors in the group to get their opinions, and maybe I would find one to agree. Well, after speaking with 4 of them, and listening to their horror stories, I know I'm making the right decision not to push a VBA2C for my own health, as well as the baby's.
Reply:It depends on how soon after the last caesarean section you are talking about. It's not only the skin on the outside that has to heal it is the uterus itself, having a CS is a major abdominal operation and takes time to heal. It would be lovely for you to have your dream of a natural birth, a lot of women have successfully had a VBAC, but you have to be realistic and err on the side of caution rather than what you want. If you have a normal birth during labour, the wound could open and you could be in all sorts of trouble. You really need to talk to your doctor and find out what your options, if any, are. Good luck I hope you get your normal delivery.
Reply:Yes you can despite what the doctors say based on the reasons given you should be able to atleast try. I had 2 vaginal births 1 c-section due to placenta previa and then another vagianal birth after that. All mine are 2 to 2.5 years apart. The only problem you may experience in not dilating again and having to have c-section again but there is no risk (given your case above) that you should worry about and no reason you can't atleast attempt vaginal birth. Good luck and God bless
Reply:You probably could but it's your doctor that you need to ask.
