What is C.E. in terms of time means?

c.e.anno domini what is this?

What is C.E. in terms of time means?
C.E. today is more accepted to mean as the Common Era rather than its earlier meaning of Christian Era to make the term more universally acceptable especially to non-Christians.

B.C.E. on the other hand is Before the Common Era

Although today many resource materials still refer to the C in B.C.E. and C.E. as Christ or Christian, many groups are opting for the Common Era and Before the Common Era notations because it does not connote any religious inclination or influence. The word Common refers to the calendar most widely used in the world today, that is the Gregorian calendar.
Reply:CE and BCE are abbreviations of "Common Era" or "Before the Common Era." It's the sectarian version of what used to be referred to as BC or AD. Since not everyone in the world is a Christian, but we all share the same calendar, it allows everyone to have the same frame of reference without dealing with the issue of Jesus's possible divinity.
Reply:The Common Era (CE), sometimes known as the Christian Era or Current Era, is the period of measured time beginning with the year 1 (the traditional but probably erroneous birthdate of Jesus) to the present.
Reply:"Common Era." Politically correct people don't like to use the term B.C. (Before Christ) because not everyone is a Christian. Use it in place of B.C. and A.D. B.C.E. is Before Common Era and C.E. is Common Era.
